FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) football game at home to Bridgewater College, falling 52-28 this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium.

THE BASICS
Bridgewater scored less than three minutes into the game on Vinnie Tucker's 52-yard touchdown reception from Malcolm Anderson. Anderson then rushed for an 8-yard score with 1:12 left in the first quarter to put the Eagles out in front 14-0 after one.
Ronald Robinson plunged into the end zone from a yard out at 10:04 of the second quarter, then Jackson Hendron drilled the uprights from 31 yards out as time expired in the first half, giving Bridgewater a 24-0 advantage at the break.
Backup quarterback Jaylen Wood connected with Dylan Maclachlan for a 25-yard scoring strike at 10:38 of the third quarter to increase the lead to 31-0.

Zac Smiley scored a 1-yard touchdown run at 6:10 of the third and kicker
Seth Deaton successfully completed a 2-point PAT conversion with a run to the left-hand corner of the end zone to trim the lead to 31-8. The Eagles then scored a pair of touchdowns to close out the third quarter with a 45-8 lead.
Joshua Ellerbe opened the fourth quarter with a 42-yard touchdown run for the Panthers to cut the lead to 45-15, only to see the Eagles score another touchdown to make it 52-15 with 8:15 left to play.

Brayden Hawkins threw for a pair of touchdowns in the final six and a half minutes of play, a 38-yard bomb to
Ryan Downer at 6:31 and a 7-yard strike to
Deven Gray at 2:19.
