FERRUM, Virginia – Averett University erased a 1-0 first-half deficit and came back to post a 4-2 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's soccer win over Ferrum College tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Leo Galpin scored first for the Panthers, heading a ball into the net off
Callum Harrison's free kick in the 31st minute of play. The lead would hold through halftime, but disaster struck for the Panthers when Averett scored three times in a three-minute span early in the second half.
JonThomas Buckley scored at 51:16, Ferrum had an own goal a minute and a half later at 52:40, then Buckley then converted a penalty kick at 54:27 to make it a 3-1 game. Orion Mills came off the bench to add a goal for the Cougars at the 70:54 mark.

Cannon Newell trimmed the lead to 4-2 in the 83
rd minute with a shot into the lower right corner of the net off a pass from
Maxwell Pheng, but that's all the Panthers would get.
