FERRUM, Virginia-- The Ferrum College Women's basketball team fell to Maryville College 57-45 in non-conference action tonight in Swartz Gymnasium.

THE BASICS
In the first quarter Maryville took an early 9-1 lead, before Demisha Canada converted a three point play at the free throw line.
Aisha Martin hit a three pointer to make it 10-6. The Scots took a 13-6 lead after one quarter of play.Â
Emma Huskey and Courtney Carruthers hit shots to make the lead by 9, early on in the second quarter for Maryville. The Scots saw there lead grow as high as 15, before the Panthers cut it to 31-19 at halftime.
The third quarter
Trina Lewis scored back to back baskets and
Kayla Cabiness converted to pull within seven points, 38-31. Â In the fourth quarter used a 9-0 run over the first seven minutes and that was enough to halt a comeback by the Panthers.
