BUENA VISTA, VIRGINIA - The Ferrum College men's basketball team fell in overtime 92-90 against Southern Virginia University in non-conference action this afternoon in Knight Arena.

THE BASICS
A back and forth start to the game, with Ferrum holding a 20-19 lead at the second media timeout of the half.
Johnny Franklin hit a three-pointer to spark a 12-4 run for the Panthers, to give them an 11 point lead, 44-33. A scoreless final minute of the half, saw Ferrum take a 46-38 lead.
Southern Virginia battled back to get within two points on a Shaun Kenedy three-pointer. Kenedy again hit a three-pointer to give the Knights their first lead since early in the first half, 67-65. Ferrum then used a 14-6 run over six minutes to take a 79-75 lead with 2:38 left to go in regulation. Koa Baker pulled the Knights within two and then tied the game at 79-79 with 59 seconds left.
Kenedy would head to line and sink both free throws to go up with 31 seconds left.
Alfredo Abel-Rivera scored a layup with 14 seconds left to tie the game up. Southern Virginia had chance to win the game in regulation, but
Marcus Neal stole the ball to send it to overtime.
In overtime, Southern Virginia outscored Ferrum 11-9 to win the game in overtime. The Panthers missed two free throws with four seconds remaining and were unable to get the offensive rebound.
