Kayla Cabiness had a game-high 22 points, but Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball game this afternoon at home to Shenandoah University, falling 60-47 at Swartz Gym.

Shenandoah jumped out to an 11-0 lead before
Trina Lewis' layup at 7:53 broke the ice for Ferrum.
Aisha Martin sent a pair of free throws through the net with no time left on the clock to cut the lead to 15-9 in closing out the first quarter.
The Panthers rallied in the second quarter, tying the game at 17-17 on a pair of
Allyson Cassell free throws, then taking the lead when Cabiness buried a three-pointer from the right side to make it a 20-17 game at 4:53. Ferrum extended its lead to 23-17 a minute later on another Cabiness trey, but the Hornets used a 9-2 run from there to close out the first half on top 26-25.
The Hornets outscored Ferrum 19-10 in the third quarter, getting six free throws from Madisen Kimble and a pair of layups from Terese Greene. Shenandoah led 45-35 lead after three quarters, then held on in the fourth for the league road win.
