FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Georgia -- Ferrum College's women's wrestling team sent a competitor to the Robert Horton Open, held today at Emmanuel College's Shaw Athletic Center.
THE BASICS
A total of 110 women competed in 10 weight classes at the event named in memory of Robert Horton, chairperson of Team Georgia Wrestling (Georgia's USA Wrestling affiliate), who passed away in November of 2020.
Jordan Wilson competed for the Panthers in the 155-pouund weight class, dropping two matches. Wilson opened the tournament with an 11-0 loss by technical fall to Ariana Pereira from University of the Cumberlands. She then lost by fall to Kylie Ayala of host Emmanuel in an elimination bout.
UP NEXT
The Panthers are scheduled to compete next at the Indiana Tech Open Saturday, January 28, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
