BRIDGEWATER, Virginia -- Ferrum College dropped an Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's basketball game to Bridgewater College this afternoon on the road, falling 58-35 at Nininger Gym.

THE BASICS
Bridgewater opened a 9-4 lead early on, getting a three-pointer each from Abby Branner, India Dailey and Riley Corcoran. Ferrum got a pair of layups from
DeMeisha Canada and a trey from
Hannah Huffman, but the Eagles closed the first on top 15-11.
The Eagles got hot in the second quarter, outscoring Ferrum 20-6 to grab a commanding 35-17 lead at the break.
Aisha Martin had a pair of baskets for the Panthers, while Rosemary Pierson had seven points for Bridgewater.
The two teams played to a virtual standstill in the second half, with Bridgewater outscoring Ferrum 9-6 in the third quarter, then nipping the Panthers 14-12 in the fourth. Ferrum would get as close as 14 points in the fourth on a pair of free throws by
Kayla Cabiness at 7:22 to cut the lead to 47-33.
