Panthers Field Hockey Fall 5-1

FERRUM, Virginia – Ferrum's field hockey team took on fellow Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent Virginia Wesleyan University at their final home game of the season. This game looked like a potential shutout until the 58:23 minute when Ferrum's Sara Rah score their lone goal.

THE BASICS
The Marlin's scored first in the 11:03 minute with a goal from Mary Ruffin off an assist from Lauren Hedspeth. The next score was in the 24:09 minute by Dani Poulsen unassisted. The third goal was scored right before the half by Katherine Druiett which was set up by an assist from Hedspeth. Virginia Wesleyan led 3-0 at the half.
 
Entering the second half, Virginia Wesleyan scored their fourth goal at 30:59 off of a goal from Hedspeth and an assist from Druiett. Hedspeth scored one more time in the 52:47 to give the Marlins the 5-0 lead. This game looked as if it would end in a shutout; however, in the 58:23 minute, Sara Rah scored from an assist from Rylee Staples which gave Ferrum a point up on the board protecting against the shutout.
