ATLANTA, Georgia -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team fell this afternoon to Oglethorpe University in non-conference action, losing 70-61 at Dorough Field House.

THE BASICS
Oglethorpe jumped out to a 14-10 lead to open the game, but
Erin Harden and
Trina Lewis each made baskets to tie the game 14-14 at the end of the first quarter.
Allesandria Thomas' layup at 7:33 of the second quarter gave Ferrum a 20-18 lead. The Stormy Petrels responded with a 13-2 run over the next four minutes to take a 31-22 lead. The Panthers battled back, getting the lead down to 37-30 at the break.
Oglethorpe held Ferrum to just eight points in the third quarter, extending the lead to 54-38 headed into the fourth. Keimarya Rivera's jumper with just under nine minutes left to play gave Oglethorpe its biggest lead of the game, 59-38. The Panthers would not go quietly, using a furious 21-4 rally to get within four points, 63-59, with 2:25 left in regulation. Oglethorpe sealed the win with a 7-2 run to close it out.
