FINAL RESULTS

DANVILLE, Virginia -- Led by a pair of individual titlists, Ferrum College placed third in a field of 24 teams at the Cougar Open, held today at Averett University's E. Stuart James Grant Center. Adrian Samano and Rayshawn Dixon won titles for the Panthers, with Dixon collecting his second title in as many weekends.

THE BASICS
Samano went 5-0 on the day in his season debut, with two pins and a pair of tech falls, in winning the 125-lb title. He was one of four Ferrum wrestlers who reached the semifinals at that weight class.

Dixon won his second title of the season, going 5-0 with three pins and a tech fall. Dixon also won the 285-lb title last weekend at the Mount Union University Invitational in Alliance, Ohio.

Overall, the Panthers had six placewinners today. Qwantez Watkins went 4-1 and placed second at 125 pounds, while Trent Proctor and Richard Albert finished third and fourth, respectively, at the same weight. Joseph Olalde went 6-1 and placed fifth at 149 pounds.
