FERRUM, Virginia — Ferrum College and Regent University battled back and forth the first half, before the Panthers pulled out the non-conference women's basketball win at home. Ferrum won 64-53 with a strong second-half effort at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
The Panthers lead 7-0 early on in route to an 11-7 lead. The Royals used a 10-0 run to open the second quarter, taking a 17-11 lead on Jabarria Brown's layup with 5:08 remaining. Ferrum rallied to tie the game at 23-23 on
Taryn Blankenship's jumper from the right side with 24 seconds left before the half.
In the third quarter,
Trina Lewis' fast break layup at 5:24 put the Panthers on top 34-27. Ferrum extended the lead to 11 points when
Kayla Cabiness' jumper with 28 seconds left in the third quarter made it a 44-33 game.
Erin Harden sank a pair of free throws with 1:34 left in regulation to give Ferrum its largest least at 19 points, 64-45. The Royals went on an 8-0 run to close out the game with a final score of 64-53.
