FINAL RESULTS

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Ferrum College placed fourth in a field of 10 teams at the Mount Union Invitational, hosted at Peterson Fieldhouse by University Mount Union. The Panthers placed behind NCAA Div. II Gannon University, Div. I Campbellsville University and Div. III Ohio Northern University.

THE BASICS
Rayshawn Dixon won the 285-pound title and was named the tournament's Outstanding Wrestler. Dixon had to beat La`Ron Parks of Div. II Notre Dame College, 4-1 in sudden victory. Parks opens the 2023-24 season ranked #6 in the nation by the National Wrestling Coaches Association.

Dixon was one of seven placewinners for the Panthers, including Zach Beckner, who finished second at 133 pounds. Richard Albert (125) and Joseph Olalde (149) placed fourth for Ferrum. Trent Proctor (125) and Joseph Toner (184) both finished fifth, while Mateo Villalobos (174) finished sixth.
