Kayla Cabiness had a game-high 24 points, but Ferrum College dropped a non-conference game at Maryville College, falling 59-49 at Cooper Athletic Center.

THE BASICS
Maryville led 12-4 on Ella Haney's driving layup at 6:24 of the first quarter. Ferrum trimmed the lead to 16-15 with a three-pointer in the waning seconds of the quarter.
Cabiness converted a jumper then added a free throw two minutes later to give Ferrum a 24-21 lead at 5:29 of the second quarter. Haney drilled a three-pointer for the Scots at 3:47 to tie the game, 24-24, and the game was tied, 26-26, at halftime.
Maryville scored the first five points of the third quarter to grab a 31-26 lead, then extended the lead to 42-36 after three quarters. The Scots widened the lead to 11 points twice in the fourth quarter, then held on for the win.
