Averett Tops Women's Lacrosse in ODAC Play

DANVILLE, Virginia -- The Ferrum College women's lacrosse team fell on the road 13-4 against Averett University in a Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest last night at the Daly Field at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.

THE BASICS
 Willow Cooper scored twice in the first seven minutes of the game and Bianca Celitto put one in the back of the net to help Ferrum jump out a 3-1 lead in the first quarter. Averett scored the next six goals, three in the first for a 4-3 lead. Then extending that lead to 7-3. 

Cooper netted her third goal of the game, on an assist fro Reagan Aldridge to cut the lead to 7-4. The Cougars scored with 10 seconds left in the half, for a 8-4 lead at halftime. Ferrum was shutout in the second half, while Averett scored two goals in the third and three in the fourth quarter to pick up the win.
