GREENSBORO, North Carolina -- Guilford College scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two to win 4-3 and complete an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) softball sweep over Ferrum College this afternoon at Haworth Field. The Quakers took the opener by a score of 7-1.

GAME 1
Lyndsey Sears ripped an RBI singe down the left field line in the first inning of the opener to spot Ferrum a 1-0 lead. Guilford would score two runs in the bottom of the frame, one in the second, three in the fifth and one in the sixth to record the win.

GAME 2
Guilford scored a run in the first inning, then Carson Hogston had an RBI single to left field in the second to tie the game. The Quakers scored a run each in the third and fourth innings to take a 3-1 lead, but Ferrum responded with a run in sixth inning on Abby McGuire's RBI single to left, then Hogston's RBI double to left in the seventh tied the game at 3-3. Calus had an RBI single to left in the bottom of the seventh to push the winning run across the plate and give the Quakers the sweep.

The Panthers will be back in action Saturday, April 15, at home against Eastern Mennonite University. The ODAC doubleheader is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start at VVK Softball Complex, and will be preceded by a Senior Day ceremony for seven graduating players.
