Ferrum Falls to #3 Shenandoah on Senior Day

FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's baseball fell to nationally ranked #3 Shenandoah University 2-1 in the first game and 15-2 in the second game at Panther Field. Prior to the start of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) game,  the nine graduating seniors were honored with a senior day ceremony.

THE BASICS

GAME ONE 
Kooper Anderson's solo homerun to left field in the top of the sixth gave Shenandoah a 1-0 lead. Later in the inning Pearce Bucher drove in a run with his single. Ferrum was able to score one run in the bottom of the seventh on Grayson Chitwood's RBI groundout. The Hornets pitching staff shut down the Panthers in the final two frames to hold on for the win.

GAME TWO
The Hornets scored four runs in the top of the first and two more in the third inning to take a 6-0 lead. Enrique Diaz's RBI groundout drove in the Panthers first run of the game in the bottom of the third inning. Shenandoah scored nine runs in the top of the seventh to extend their lead to 15-1. Diaz drove in his second run of the day with a single to right field.
