LYNCHBURG -- Ferrum College's softball team split their season finale this evening with Randolph College. Winning the first game 5-4 in extra innings and dropping the night cap 7-6 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play.

THE BASICS 

GAME ONE
Lyndsey Sears homered in the top of the third to give Ferrum a 1-0 lead. Randolph tied things up in the bottom half of the third and took the lead in the sixth, 3-1. An error scored a run for the Panthers in the seventh. Abby McGuire singled through the left side to bring home two a run and tie it 3-3. 

Erin Nelson scored on a wild pitch in the eighth, giving Ferrum a 4-3 lead. The WildCats got one back in the bottom half of the inning to tie it 4-4. Sears doubled to right center to drive in the go-ahead run in the ninth inning.

GAME TWO
Erin Nelson drew a bases loaded walk to put Ferrum ahead 1-0 in the first inning. Randolph scored six runs in the fourth inning to take a 6-1 lead. Skyler Swaney doubled to right center, driving in Breanna Weaver in the fifth. Sears hit her second homerun of the day to center field, cutting the lead to 6-4. Nelson's RBI groundout made it a 6-5 game. Swaney tied the game, 6-6 with a single up the middle. Kylie Stark walked it off in the bottom of the seventh for Randolph, with a single to left field.
