THE BASICS
Just over five minutes into the game, Ferrum's
Payton Rausch flicked on a pass to
Erick Nolasco, who then played a ball into the left side of the box that found
Jonathan Nicacio and he placed a left-footed shot past the outstretching arms of a diving goalie. Ten minutes later
Alvin Udoto played a ball across the box and
Amanuel Walie struck it with his left foot for the Panthers second goal of the half.
Payton Rausch scored two of his three goals in the first half, both on assists, one from
Callum Harrison and the other from
Braden Crossan.
Rausch found the back of the net to complete his hat trick in the second half, when Nicacio's pass played him into the box and he placed a shot past a diving goalie. Freshman keeper
Dillon Ghosh earned the win in net, facing just one shot on goal.
