MISENHEIMER, North Carolina – Ferrum College's women's soccer team made it two in a row with today's non-conference win at Pfeiffer University, romping 6-1 at Lefko Field. The game was highlighted by junior
Ashlynn Mitcham's rare hat trick.

HISTORY
Mitcham's hat trick is the 27th overall since women's soccer began at Ferrum in 1990, and the first since Carey Raggett poked three goals in against Averett University in 2019.
THE BASICS
Mitcham got Ferrum going early with an unassisted goal before three full minutes had been played. She scored her second goal at 26:15, with
Jessie Howison and
Jamie Adams both credited with assists.
Nat Eickhoff made a 3-0 game at the break when she struck a ball past Pfeiffer goalkeeper Kaylee Ollis at the 39:32 mark.
Yailine Riera converted a penalty kick for the Falcons in the 54th minute of play to break up the shutout.
Bri Bitz contributed to Ferrum's scoring barrage with a goal at 58:35, with
Kayla Fedison assisting. Bitz then fed Mitcham with a nice pass for a goal at 59:05, then
Alondra Vera had unassisted at 79:05 to close out scoring.
Ferrum goalkeeper
Ashli Wuss and
Anna Blaine split time in net for the Panthers, Wuss getting the win with 70 minute in net and improving to 2-0, and Blaine playing the final 20 minutes. Ollis registered 13 saves in net for Pfeiffer.
