FINAL RESULTS
LYNCHBURG, Virginia -- The Ferrum College men's and women's track & field teams opened the 2023-24 indoor season at The Burg Open. The event was hosted by University of Lynchburg and held at the Liberty University Indoor Track Complex.
THE BASICS
A number of Ferrum athletes posted top 10 finishes, including
Sarah Crawford, who finished ninth in the women's 400 meters in her collegiate debut.
Jamaari Blackburn was second in the men's 60 meters, and
Michael Hamm, was second in the men's 400 meters and
Deontae Lawson placed fifth in the men's high jump.
Anaveon Steele finished seventh in the men's 60 meter hurdles, while Roberts was 10th in the men's 400 meters and Blackburn was 10th in the men's 200 meters.
The Panthers entered two teams in the men's 4x400 meter relay, and came away with a pair of top-10 finishes there. The foursome of
Francis Roberts, Lawson,
Seth Shaffer and Hamm finished fourth, while
Kayden Ryder,
Logan McClung,
Cameron Easley and
Ben Bublitz finished ninth.

White's team will be back in action Friday and Saturday, January 19-20, at the Finn Pincus Invitational, hosted by Roanoke College. The event will be held at Roanoke's Cregger Center in Salem, Virginia.
