FERRUM, Va. -- Conference Carolinas has released its Athletes of the Week and Ferrum College's Jahmal Jones has been named Men's Track Athlete of the Week. 

Jones turned in a strong performance at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge, held March 13-14 at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Jones advanced from the 100m prelims with a 10.54, then running a solid 10.47 in the finals to secure second place.

Jones then dominated the 200m, posting a first-place finish in a time of 21.58. This is Jones' second Conference Carolinas Athlete of the Week award, including the one he earned on January 27.

Jones and his teammates will be back in action Friday and Saturday, March 27-28 at the Dr. Jack M. Toms Alumni Invitational, hosted by University of Lynchburg at Shellenberger Field & Dr. Jack M. Toms Track.
