THE BASICS
Roanoke jumped out to a 17-10 lead after one quarter, with Cabiness scoring eight of Ferrum's 10 points on a pair of layups, a jumper and two free throws. Lauren Keel hit two jumpers and a three-pointer for the Maroons in the first quarter.
Each team scored just eight points in the second quarter, for a 25-18 Roanoke lead at the break. The Maroons exploded with a 21-5 third quarter to carry a commanding 46-23 lead into the fourth.
Cabiness' final basket of the game, a layup with 1:16 left in regulation, gave the fifth-year senior exactly 1500 career points. She is currently in fourth place on Ferrum's all-time scoring list behind Zarkia Mattox (1885 pts, 2015-18), Jacole Hairston (1641 pts, 2012-15) and Tara Toland (1501 pts, 2002-05).
