FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team fell 75-44 at home to Shenandoah University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action this afternoon at Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Shenandoah controlled the game early on, rolling up a 14-4 lead after one quarter. The Panthers got all four points in the first from
Trina Lewis, who had a jumper at the 5:30 mark, then added a pair of free throws at 1:13.
Addisyn Banks' layup with 1:14 left in the second quarter expanded Shenandoah's lead to 18 points, making it a 29-11 game, and the Hornets carried a 32-13 lead into the break.
Ferrum outscored Shenandoah 18-16 in the third quarter.
Kayla Cabiness had a three-pointer and a jumper,
Taryn Blankenship and
Allyson Cassell each had a layup and two free throws,
Asya Williams had a three-pointer and
Erin Harden had a pair of free throws. The Panthers trailed 48-31 after three full quarters.
Shenandoah used an 8-2 run to open the fourth quarter and push the lead to 56-33 at 6:18.The Hornets then used a 13-5 run over the next three plus minutes to make it a 69-38 game with 2:38 left to play, then hung on down the stretch.
