Ferrum, Virginia -- Ferrum College defeated Virginia Wesleyan University, 52-31, in an ODAC women's basketball tonight in Swartz Gym.

THE BASICS
Erin Harden drilled a three-pointer from the left side at 3:52 in the first quarter to give Ferrum a 7-0 lead. The Panthers ended the first leading 8-2.
Wesleyan responded in the second quarter by cutting the lead down to 11-7 from Wesleyan's Juliana Morgan knocking down a three. At the 4:49 mark, the game was tied 13-13. Ferrum started to pull away, with leading scorer Trinia Lewis knocking down two free throws to give Ferrum a 21-15 lead going into halftime.
The Panthers didn't let off the gas pedal in the third quarter, increasing their lead 29-19, including a layup each by
Allyson Cassell,
Allessandria Thomas and
Taryn Blankenship to end the quarter.
Ferrum took off in the fourth quarter, going on a 10-0 run to put them up 41-25. Wesleyan stopped the bleeding with a Grace Harriman layup 3:16. A late three-pointer from
Kayleigh Shreffler gave Ferrum a win with a final score 52-31.
