FERRUM, Virginia – Sophomore running back
Jahylen Lee powered Ferrum College to a commanding 35-6 victory over conference rival Averett University. Lee rushed for 132 yards and scored two touchdowns leading the Panthers to their second win over the Cougars this season. These two teams met earlier in the year with Ferrum winning 36—10 in Danville. However, tonight's game counted as the official conference game.

THE BASICS
Lee set the tone early, scoring less than three minutes into the game on a 9-yard touchdown run up the middle, giving Ferrum the early 7-0 lead. The Panther's defense quickly followed suit, as sophomore
Davon Simpkins scooped up a fumble and raced 21 yards another touchdown, putting Ferrum ahead 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter saw Ferrum extend its lead further when freshman
Peja Brent returned a fumble 74 yards for a touchdown, giving the Panthers a commanding 21-0 lead at halftime.
After halftime, Ferrum continued to dominate on the ground. Lee rushed up the middle 50 yards to put the Panthers ahead 28-0. On Ferrum's next possession, Freshman
Aiden Vaught rushed to the right for 18 yards and the score, putting Ferrum ahead 35-0.
Averett's Louie De lulio put the Cougars lone points on the board at the beginning of the 4
th quarter with 1 yard touchdown run. Averett missed the extra point.
Prior to the game, Ferrum honored their twenty seniors.
