FERRUM, Virginia -- The Ferrum College baseball team dropped a non-conference mid-week game tonight, 11-7 against Pfeiffer University at Panther Field.

THE BASICS
Pfeiffer struck first, scoring six runs in the first inning, two off of defensive miscues by Ferrum. Brett Mason was hit by pitch to start the bottom half of the first inning and would come around to score on wild pitch. Noah Basham drove in Slade Keyser to score the Panthers second run of the inning. The Falcons scored one run in the third inning on a sacrifice flyball, to lead 7-2. Matt Wright came home score on a error, cutting the lead to 7-3.

The Falcons scored four more runs in the sixth inning, getting one on a solo homerun, a two-run single, and a wild pitch, taking an 11-3 lead. In the bottom of the eighth Wright's single with the bases loaded through the left side drove in two runs. Jaden Johnson hit a sac fly to left and Wright scored on a wild pitch for the final run of the game.
