MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina -- Ferrum College freshman Jamaari Blackburn is set to begin competition today at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The national championship event is being held at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach.

A freshman from Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Blackburn qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships with a 10.50 time at the Dani Palooza Last Chance Meet, hosted by High Point University May 12 at Vert Stadium in High Point.

He earned third team All-ODAC in the 100 meter dash after finishing third, and helped the Panthers finish second in the 4x100 meter relay to claim second team All-ODAC, along with teammates Conner Church, Michael Hamm and DaMauri McPherson.

Blackburn is one of 22 competitors at the NCAA Championships in the men's 100 meter dash. He will run in the third heat of the prelims, set to begin this afternoon at 5:45 p.m.
