Panther Women Fall 2-1 at Lees-McRae

BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Ferrum College dropped a Conference Carolinas women's soccer game at Lees-McRae College tonight on the road, falling 2-1 at Tate Field.

THE BASICS
Ferrum struck first with an early goal by Breanna Herlihy at the 3:19 mark off a pass from Alondra Vera. Lees-McRae's Mackenzie Sanford evened the score in the 21st minute or play off a pass from Ezra Carpenter. 

The 1-1 score held through halftime and into the 61st minute of play when Sanford scored her second goal, this time an unassisted shot into the upper left corner of the net to account for the eventual game-winner.

UP NEXT
Coach Erin Saleeby's team will be in action again Saturday, October 4, at home against Barton College at 4:30 p.m. The Conference Carolinas game will be part of a doubleheader in which the Ferrum men will also square off with Barton at 7:00 p.m. following the women's game.
