FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College picked up a non-conference women's soccer win over Virginia State University, winning 4-1 this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field. The win snapped a seven-game losing skid dating back to September 17.

THE BASICS
Ferrum was aggressive early on, piling up 16 first-half shots to Virginia State's two.
Macy Taylor scored first for Ferrum, coming off the bench to rip a shot past VSU goalkeeper Tianna Roberts at 26:18 with an assist from
Anna Milliron.
Jaden Hiers made it a 2-0 game when she found the back of the net in the 30th minute off a pass from
Peyton Fularon and the lead held through halftime.Â
The first 20 plus minutes of the second half fairly even until Ferrum's
Amber Nichole Gillen scored the eventual game-winning goal at the 68:23 mark off a cross from
Carissa Iriarte to make it 3-0.
Summer Stevens scored an unassisted goal at 70:53 to extend Ferrum's lead to 4-0. Loryn Sturgis notched a pair of late unassisted goals in the 79th and 83rd minutes for the Trojans.
