Sa'ni Savage's tip-in at 5:47 of the second quarter extended Chowan's lead to eight points at 24-16. A pair of
Kleiauna Riddick free throws five minutes later narrowed the gad to 21-28, and the Hawks made a basket just before halftime to take a 33-28 lead into the break.
