CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Ferrum College dropped a non-conference women's basketball game to Johnson & Wales University tonight on the road, falling 56-53 at JWU Wildcat Center.

THE BASICS
Kleiauna Riddick and
Maslyn Mosbacher each had a layup and
Taryn Blankenship sank a pair of free throws in the first five minute of play en route to a 6-6 tie. Mosbacher and
Aleksandra Kubiak each had a basket in the final two and a half minutes of the first quarter to tie the game at 10-10, but JWU closed with a 14-10 lead after one.
The Wildcats extended the lead to 28-23 at the break.
Erin Harden had a pair of three-pointers in the third quarter and
Allyson Cassell had another three-pointer to help push Ferrum in front 39-38 heading into the fourth quarter.

Riddick and
Breyana Kimmons had back-to-back layups in the fourth to put Ferrum up 47-42 at 7:26. Sydney Wells made a pair of three-pointers to put Johnson & Wales in front for good at the 5:40 mark, and the Wildcats hug on for the win.
