FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College's baseball team lost the final game of their three game series with Alfred State, 11-9, this afternoon at Panther field.

THE BASICS
The Panthers opened up a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning. Freshman JJ Tyree got things started with a single that knocked in Junior Gregory Melo for the Panthers first run. The Pioneers then exploded for 7 runs in the top of the third inning to take back control of the game. After being down 10-4, the Panthers battled back with 5 runs in the bottom of the 8^th inning, to pull within one run. The Pioneers tacked on an insurance run in the top of the ninth inning to secure the win.
