FERRUM, Virginia -- Ferrum College won a pair of Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) baseball games over Washington and Lee University this afternoon at home, taklng the opener 12-11 and the nightcap 13-10 at Panther Field.
Carlos Castillo led the Panthers going 6-9 on the day, with three home runs, six RBIs, and five runs.

GAME 1
In the opener, Ferrum scored five rns in the bottom of the ninth inning to post the comeback win. Washington and Lee led 11-5 headed into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Ferrum's
Carlos Castillo homered to left field and
Tyler Mason had an ground-out RBI to make it an 11-7 game after eight full innings.
The Panthers then picked up a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth inning on
Shawn Baxter's two-run homer to left field, then a solo homer by Castillo to left to make it an 11-10 game. Mason then doubled to center field to drive in two runs for the walkoff win. Castillo closed the game 3-4 with two homers, two runs and two RBI. Reliever Steven Richie (1-0) pitched the final 1.1 innings to get the win, allowing one hit and no runs with one strikeout.
GAME 2
Ferrum led 5-0 after an inning, 7-0 after four and 9-1 after five innings. The Generals closed the gap with a run in the fifth, three in the sixth, three in the seventh and two in the eighth to make it a 10-9 game. W&L then scored a run in the top of the ninth to tie the game 10-10. In the bottom of the ninth inning,
Carlos Castillo homered to left center with two runners on to end the day with back-to-back walkoff wins.
Gregory Melo went 4-5 with a double, a run and two RBI. Castillo went 3-5 with a double, a home run, three runs and four RBI. Reliever
Matthew Sheppard (4-3) earned the win after pitching the final two innings, allowing six hits and three earned runs.

Eric Owens' team will wait on the official announcement from the ODAC regarding seeding for the upcoming ODAC Tournament. It is expected that the Panthers will be the #8 seed and will play at #1 seed University of Lynchburg Friday through Sunday, May 2-4, in a first round best-of-three series.
