FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College's men's soccer team opened the season today at home, beating Shaw University 2-1 in non-conference action this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field. It was the NCAA Division II debut for the Panther men.

THE BASICS
Jadon Brooks ripped a shot past Shaw goalkeeper Joel Tellez less than two and a half minutes into the game. The 1-0 lead would hold through halftime.
Amanuel Walie made it a 2-0 game at the 56:58 mark when he took a pass from
Andres Torres-Cortes and punched it into the back of the net.
Jacky Fulu broke up the shutout for the visiting Bears when he took a Cameron Thomas pass and scored in the 77th minute of play.Â
