FERRUM, Va. -- The Ferrum College women's soccer team dropped a Conference Carolinas game to visiting Francis Marion University, falling 6-0 this afternoon at Penn-Roediger Field.

Ashli Wuss stopped a penalty kick at the 13:33 mark, then when the ball popped free, had to make another diving save to keep the game scoreless. Tahya Dave eventually opened scoring for Francis Marion with a goal in the 24th minute of play, with an assist from Cora Lepper, and the 1-0 score held through halftime.Â
Laila Ayup scored at the 57:47 mark off a pass from Madeline Ballard, then Chloe Pfaff ripped a shot into the back of the Ferrum net in the 63rd minute. Joy Brockmann and Nalani Hunt added quick back-to-back goals in the 76th minute of play to break the game open. Ballard scored her second goal of the say in the 86th minute to wrap up scoring.Â
