Patriots Top Ferrum in Conference Carolinas Men's Soccer

FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College lost at home to Francis Marion University in Conference Carolinas men's soccer play, falling 5-0 tonight at Penn-Roediger Field.

THE BASICS
Francis Marion got goals from four different players. David Guevara put the Patriots out in front for good with an early goal at the 8:34 mark off a pass from Toufil Najem. Antonio Garda made it a 2-0 game when he blasted a shot into the net at 38:33. FMU didn't waste any time in adding a third goal just 28 seconds later off the foot of Elian Valencia with an assist from Byron Mitchell for the 3-0 halftime lead.

The Patriots would add two unassisted goals in th second half, by Daniel Miranda in the 65th minute and by Valencia in the 85th minute.
