Franklin Springs, Ga. - The Ferrum College women's basketball team earned a key Conference Carolinas road victory Saturday afternoon, defeating Emmanuel (Ga.) 76–67 at the Shaw Athletic Center. Freshman sensation
Breyana Kimmons led all scorers with 25 points, shooting 9 of 16 from the floor and knocking down five three-pointers. Kimmons also pulled down 14 rebounds to record a double-double.

THE BASICS
Ferrum trailed 21–14 after the opening quarter but responded with a dominant second period, holding Emmanuel to just five points while scoring 21 to take a 35–26 lead at halftime. The Panthers continued to control the game in the third quarter, extending their advantage to 55–42 heading into the final period.
Emmanuel made a late push in the fourth quarter, cutting the Ferrum lead to four points with 1:28 remaining. The Panthers responded immediately when

Sofia Ponce in the paint for an easy layup to push the advantage back to six. Ferrum closed the game at the free-throw line, as Mosbacher knocked down four clutch free throws down the stretch to help seal the win.
Ferrum had four players score in double figures. In addition to Kimmons, Sophomore
Maslyn Mosbacher added 14 points, while Ponce added a spark off the bench with 11 points. Freshman
Aleksandra Kubiak chipped in 10 points to balance out the scoring.
Defensively, Ferrum forced 18 turnovers, including a strong effort from
Kleiauna Riddick, who finished with four steals. The Panthers also outscored Emmanuel 27–12 in bench points and shot 40.9 percent from the field, including 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Emmanuel was led by Naomi Roberts with 20 points and Natalee Goff with 18, but Ferrum's defense and execution late proved to be the difference.
