Crusaders Hand Ferrum Women Conference Carolinas Loss

BELMONT, N.C. -- Ferrum College's women's basketball team traveled to Belmont Abbey College today, falling 76-38 in Conference Carolinas action at Wheeler Center.

THE BASICS
Belmont Abbey jumped out to the early 10-3 lead en route to a 21-9 advantage after one full quarter. Madison Lusk's three-pointer from the left side with three seconds left in the second quarter gave the Crusaders a 36-17 lead at the break.

Ferrum rallied in the third quarter, with Allyson Cassell's layup at the 2:31 mark getting the lead down to 43-30. Belmont Abbey scored the final five points of the quarter to take a 48-30 lead after three. The Crusaders then outscored Ferrum 19-8 in the fourth quarter to hang on for the league win.
