FERRUM, Va. -- Director of Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of
Ben Gribbins as Assistant Cross Country and Track & Field Coach at Ferrum College. Gribbins will work with second-year Head Coach
Andre Kidd.
Gribbins came to Ferrum from Midwestern State University, a fellow member in NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas, where he served as a Grad Assistant since August 2025. He helped the Mustangs with recruiting, evaluations, study hall management, student-athlete opportunities management, record keeping and team bonding.
He also served as Assistant Coach at United Unattached Athletics from December 2024 through December 2025. In that capacity, Gribbins conducted track & field practices, tracked athlete performance and specialized in sprints, jumps, hurdles and distance.
Gribbins is familiar with NCAA Div. II compliance rules and eligibility, ARMS software. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in exercise science. He also has as a restaurant maitre d', server and camp counselor.
Gribbins' first official day with the Panthers athletic staff was Monday, January 12. The Panthers will be back in action Friday and Saturday, January 16-17, at the Finn Pincus Invitational, held at Roanoke College's Cregger Center.
