Gerren Jones had 22 points to lead Ferrum College to a Conference Carolinas men's basketball win at home, 100-93 at Swartz Gym. The win capped a league sweep, following Ferrum's 77-59 win in the women's game, played earlier in the afternoon.

Alfredo Abel-Rivera scored his 1000th career point early in the game when he made a layup to make it a 5-3 game less than two minutes in. Abel-Rivera closed the game with 18 points, making him the 20th men's basketball player to join the 1000-Point Club. He currently sits in 19th place on the list with 1017 career points.

An Abel-Rivera free throw at 16:41 put Ferrum on top 12-2.
Rodrigo Farias made a layup at 11:13 of the first half to give the Panthers a 20-9 lead.

Abdulh Diaby's tip-in at 3:33 gave Ferrum the largest lead of the game, 81-64. The Valkyries never got closer than seven points down the stretch as Ferrum hung on to complete the Conference Carolinas sweep.
