Women's Flag Football Drops Heartbreaker at #5 Milligan

MILLIGAN, Tenn. -- #13 ranked Ferrum College dropped a non-conference women's flag football game to #5 Milligan University Wednesday, March 4, on the road, falling 26-14 at Citizens Bank Stadium.

THE BASICS
In a tight first half, #5 Milligan took a 13-7 lead at the break, then added a score in the third quarter to expand the lead to 19-7 headed into the fourth. Both teams scored a touchdown and converted the PAT in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Payson Shreeve was 31-46 passing for 328 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Macy Taylor hauled in nine passes for 79 yards, and Samantha Pitzer had six receptions for 58 yards. Breyana Kimmons had five receptions in her collegiate debut for 67 yards and a score, while Jaden Kiers had five receptions for 86 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, Anastasia Rogers had six tackles for the Panthers, made an interception and broke up a pass. Pitzer had five tackles and a pass breakup, and Hiers had an interception.

UP NEXT
Coach Garrett Roth's team will be back in action Friday, March 6, at home against North Carolina Central University. The non-conference game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. start at W.B. Adams Stadium.
