FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College dropped both games of its Conference Carolinas doubleheader to Emmanuel (Ga.) on Saturday afternoon at Panther Field, falling 12-10 in game one and 28-3 in game two.

GAME ONE
Ferrum came out strong in the opener, scoring four runs in the third inning to take control early. Colin Kim, Niko Papathanasiou, and Jachob Walters each drove in runs, while CJ Kemmerer added an RBI to give the Panthers a 4-0 lead.
Emmanuel answered in the fourth inning with three runs, but Ferrum responded with another three-run frame in the bottom half, highlighted by a two-RBI single from Papathanasiou to extend the lead to 7-3. The Panthers added two more runs in the fifth inning as Smith Dickinson and Tyler Mason each drove in a run to push the advantage to 9-3.
The Lions mounted a comeback in the seventh inning, scoring six runs to tie the game at 9-9, capitalizing on hit batters and timely hitting. Emmanuel then took the lead in the eighth inning with three more runs, using an RBI double from Nick Madrigal and additional run-producing hits from Matt Layton and Chaz Encarnacion.
Ferrum attempted a late rally in the eighth, scoring on an RBI single from Garrett Pancione, but Emmanuel held on for the 12-10 victory.

GAME TWO
Emmanuel (Ga.) seized control early in game two, erupting for 11 runs in the third inning to take a commanding lead. The Lions capitalized on walks, hit batters, and timely extra-base hits to break the game open.
The offensive momentum continued as Emmanuel added four runs in the fourth inning and two more in the fifth to extend its lead. The Lions put the game further out of reach with a nine-run sixth inning, building a 26-0 advantage.
Ferrum was held in check through the first seven innings before breaking through in the eighth. Deiondre Seigla doubled to start the rally, followed by an RBI single from Joshua Mays. Major Marshall then connected on a two-run home run to account for the Panthers' scoring.
Emmanuel added two more runs in the eighth inning and closed out the 28-3 win.
