WILSON, N.C. -- Ferrum College earned a Conference Carolinas men's tennis road win Friday, April 17, defeating Barton College 5-2 in a Conference at  Michala Tennis Complex.

THE BASICS
Ferrum set the tone early by claiming the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2. The tandem of Emanuel Ferreira and Tobi Teller secured a 6-3 victory at the top flight, while Brian Karenzi and Sebastian Ondas battled to a 7-6 win at No. 2 to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

The Panthers carried that momentum into singles, winning four of the six matches to seal the team victory. Ferreira delivered a convincing performance at No. 1 with a 6-2, 6-2 win, while Ondas followed with a straight-set victory at No. 2, 6-4, 7-5.

Teller added another point at No. 3, earning a 6-1, 7-6 win, and Karenzi continued his strong play with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph at No. 5.
Barton picked up wins at No. 4 and No. 6 singles, both in tightly contested matches that went the distance, but Ferrum's depth proved to be the difference in the conference victory.
