FERRUM, Va. -- The College Sports Communicators (CSC) have announced the 2025-26 Men's Tennis Academic All-District Team and Ferrum College had two players honored in
Gabriel Alvarez and
Emilio Munguia.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's Tennis teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes men's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore (academic and athletic), hold a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average, and be a starter or key reserve. Athletes must also meet specific competition minimums and be nominated by a current CSC member.
A senior from Maracaibo, Venezuela, Alvarez competed in 19 singles matches and two doubles matches this season. HeÂ
was the 2026 Ferrum College President's Cup recipient. A sophomore from
Metepec City, Mexico, Munguia competed in 20 singles matches and 19 doubles matches.
Alvarez and Munguia played this season under first-year Head Coach Jose Rincon. The Panthers closed the season with an 8-12 overall record, including a 1-11 mark in Conference Carolina play. Alvarez is the lone graduating player on the squad, with eight other players eligible to return for the 2026-27 season.
