FERRUM, Va. --  Conference Carolinas has named its Freshmen of the Month for April 2026, and Ferrum College's Sebastian Ondas has been named Men's Tennis Freshman of the Month. This is the first such honor for Ondas and the second for Ferrum in men's tennis this season. 

Ondas was 9-3 overall in the month of April and helped the Panthers win two matches, including their first Conference Carolinas victory. He posted a 5-1 record in singles and 4-2 mark in doubles. In Ferrum's final match of the season April 18 at Mount Olive, he bumped up to #1 singles and beat UMO's Kristoffer Dalbak, winning 13-11 in a third-set super tiebreaker.

A freshman from Kaierslautern, Germany, Ondas completed his rookie campaign with a 26-13 overall record. He was 13-6 in singles, playing mainly in the No. 2 spot, including a 6-5 mark against Conference Carolinas opponents. He also posted a 13-7 record in doubles this year, mainly in the No. 2 spot with doubles partner Brian Karenzi, and was 6-6 in league action. 

Ondas joins Karenzi in earning this honor. Karenzi was named Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Freshman of the Month in February 2026. Ondas also earned Conference Carolinas Men's Tennis Player of the Week once this season, on April 23.

Ferrum closed out the season at 8-12 overall and 1-11 in Conference Carolinas play under first year Head Coach Jose Rincon. The Panthers graduated one men's tennis player in May 2026, while another eight players are eligible to return for the 2026-27 season.
