FERRUM, Va. – Vice President for Athletics Cleive Adams has announced the hiring of O'Kelly McWilliams IV as Assistant Baseball Coach at Ferrum College. McWilliams joins Coach Eric Owens, who begins his third season at the helm of the Panther baseball program.
 
Most recently, McWilliams served as an assistant coach with the Chili Dogs of the Potomac Collegiate League during the summer of 2026 after previously working with the MVP Dawgs 2026 Black program. He currently serves as head coach of the MVP Terps Red 13U program and is a co-founder of Will-2-Win Baseball LLC, an organization focused on baseball instruction and athlete development.
 
A former collegiate player at Wofford College, McWilliams was a Freshman All-American during the shortened 2020 season and later served as a member of the Terriers' baseball cabinet, a leadership group selected by teammates and coaches to serve as captains and a liaison between players and the coaching staff. During his time with Wofford, he earned recognition for both his athletic and academic achievements, including Southern Conference Commissioner's Medal honors in 2020-21 and 2021-22.

"He has a tremendous work ethic, a passion for teaching the game, and a genuine commitment to helping student-athletes reach their potential. His experience will be a tremendous asset to our program. I have no doubt he'll make an immediate impact on our players."
 
McWilliams previously worked with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), where he earned Microsoft Power BI Certification while serving in the company's Chief Data Office. During his time at SAIC, he developed multiple data products before transitioning into an administrative role supporting the Vice President of Finance and Commerce.
 
A graduate of Wofford College, McWilliams earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics with minors in Sociology and Anthropology in 2023. He graduated with a 3.74 grade-point average, earned Dean's List recognition six times, and received the Shining Star Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Sociology and Anthropology Classroom during the 2021-22 academic year. He also began work on a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Lynchburg.
 
McWilliams' baseball experiences extend beyond the collegiate level through his participation with MVP International Athletics, where he traveled to nine countries and played baseball in eight. He also attended Major League Baseball's Diversity Business Summit in 2016, gaining additional exposure to leadership and opportunities within the sport.

McWilliams begins at Ferrum on August 1.
