FERRUM, Va. -- Ferrum College fell to Emory & Henry University, 55-16, in non-conference football action this afternoon at W.B. Adams Stadium during Hall of Fame Weekend.
The game has been named the Crooked Road Classic since the 2016 season. Today's game marked the 40th time the two schools have met in football, and the seventh Crooked Road Classic.

THE BASICS
Emory & Henry scored on its first two possessions and built a 14-0 lead before Ferrum answered with a 57-yard touchdown pass from
Eli Foutz to
Jerome Blakeney, cutting the deficit to 21-6 with 11:50 remaining in the second quarter. The Wasps added two more touchdowns before halftime to take a 35-6 lead into the break.
Ferrum opened the second half with a quick-strike touchdown as Foutz connected with
Brett Tate-Blanks on a 54-yard scoring pass just 55 seconds into the third quarter.
Jon Davis added the extra point to make it 35-13.
Emory & Henry answered with a pair of third-quarter touchdowns, including a 20-yard run and a 66-yard run by Dallas Chavis, to take a 49-16 advantage heading into the fourth quarter. Sandwiched in between the two Wasp TDs, Davis drilled a 33-yard field goal at 6:26 of the third quarter for Ferrum's final score of the game.
Ferrum had another opportunity to add to its total early in the fourth quarter after
Elias Hines intercepted Tyler Knutson and returned the ball 39 yards to the Emory & Henry 36-yard line. The Panthers were unable to convert the turnover into points, however, turning the ball over on downs at the Wasps' 33. Emory & Henry added its final touchdown on a 36-yard pass from Knutson to Blake Morris with 7:06 remaining.
