Chris Chandler has worked in the Human Resources field since 1978, and came to Ferrum College in March of 2015. He was born and reared in Oklahoma, and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1975, beginning work in the Student Financial Aid Office the next year. In 1978, Chris transferred to the Office of Personnel Services and Employee Relations, working in that office for the next nine years. In 1987, Chris moved with his wife and two young sons from Austin to Kansas City, Missouri, to attend seminary.
In 1989, Chris had the opportunity to return to the HR field, moving to Ft. Worth, Texas, to work with the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Subsequent career moves took Chris and his family to Tarleton State University (part of the Texas A&M University System), Austin College in Sherman, Texas, and Haverford College in Pennsylvania, and then to Ferrum College.
Chris has been working on his master’s degree in organizational management (with a concentration in HR) from Wayne State College in Nebraska; he expects to complete his degree in December of 2020.
Chris and his wife Pam live between Rocky Mount and Callaway, and are the parents of two adult sons, the proud grandparents of two granddaughters, and are blessed to have two very special daughters-in-law.
