Jack Turner joined the Ferrum football staff in March 2022 as assistant coach. In the spring of 2024, he was named Strength and Conditioning Coordinator, assisting all programs.

Turner came to Ferrum from Chatham High School in Chatham, Virginia, where he served as head football coach from 2020-21. He also served as head football coach at Auburn High School in Riner, Virginia from 2012-2015 and head football coach at Pulaski County High School in Dublin, Virginia, from 2003-10. Turner also spent a year as assistant football coach and head strength and conditioning coach at Franklin County High School in nearby Rocky Mount, Virginia, in 2011-12.

Turner earned District, Region and WDBJ7 Coach of the Year honors at Pulaski County, and Conference Coach of the Year in 2013, 2014 and 2015 while at Auburn. He earned his Bachelor's degree in History and Social Science from Ferrum in 1990. He also earned a Teaching Licensure degree from Hollins University in 1992 and a Special Education certification from the University of Virginia in 1993.
