Bailey Roberts joined the Ferrum athletic staff as Assistant Softball Coach in September 2023. She played four years at Christopher Newport University and earned All-Conference, All-Region, and All-Super Regional. Roberts played on the Captains' 2022 NCAA Division III national championship team that posted a 47-1 final record. She earned top honors as the 2022 NCAA National Championship Tournament MVP. She was a four year starter at Christopher Newport playing third base and catcher while averaging a .361 batting career average over the four years.
A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Roberts graduated from Hickory High School, where she secured All-Conference, All-Region, All-State and the Virginia High School League (VHSL) 5A State Player of the Year her senior year. Roberts holds the Hickory High School career home runs record of 20 home runs and established a new single-season South Hampton Roads record with 14 home runs during her senior year.
Roberts was a psychology major at Christopher Newport and graduated in 2022. She helped coach for a 10U travel team and coached for one season as the head coach of the Hickory High School junior varsity team.
